SANTA MONICA, California - August 17, 2026 - Following last week's Mac App Store launch, Ludit will bring the original Dark Castle and Beyond Dark Castle to Steam on August 18, 2026, making the complete existing Dark Castle saga available together on Steam for the first time. Originally released for the Macintosh in 1986 and 1987, Dark Castle and Beyond Dark Castle became defining titles of early personal-computer gaming. The new releases are faithful replicas rather than remakes or reinterpretations, preserving the original games' distinctive 1-bit artwork, animation, audio, timing, challenge and darkly comic personality.
