The Bold and the Beautiful original cast: Then and now - who's still on the show?
Katherine Kelly Lang and John McCook remain the only original cast members still appearing on the long-running soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful. The show has seen significant cast turnover since its 1987 debut, with many original stars retiring or being replaced.
Why it matters
Provides historical context on the longevity of daytime television and the evolution of long-running media franchises.
The longest-serving original cast member still on The Bold and the Beautiful is Katherine Kelly Lang , who has played Brooke Logan in every single season since the show's premiere on March 23, 1987 — racking up more than 6,650 episodes. She shares that honour with fellow original John McCook (Eric Forrester), making them the only two founding cast members still appearing on the CBS soap as of 2026. Of the full original lineup, several stars have retired, one was recast, and the show has welcomed a new generation of faces.
