A Brisbane dog clearly has a sweet tooth after eating around 1.1kg of jelly snakes. Scooter, a three-year-old beagle, and her sister Jada were taken to Animal Emergency Service Jindalee at around 8pm on Monday after their owners came across the "suspiciously empty" bag of sweets. After arriving at the vets, Scooter was presumed to be the main culprit after her weight was checked and she came in heavier than usual. However, the vets were unsure if Jada had also dug into the sweets. A medical exam of both dogs took place by Dr Cordelia Edwards, who then gave Scooter and Jada medication to make them vomit. Veterinary nurse manager Kate Wesche said the primary concern for the pair was the amount of sugars and artificial sweeteners, particularly xylitol, which could be in the sweets.
