THANE: A Kalyan man allegedly assaulted his two-year-old son after becoming enraged when the toddler avoided him at home, slamming the child to the floor and pressing his hand against a hot plate, leaving three fingers scalded, police said on Saturday.The man also allegedly assaulted his wife when she intervened to protect their child.Accused Rahul Suresh Visale and his wife Rohini, residents of Parnaka in Kalyan West, have been embroiled in marital disputes, with one matter previously reaching the court, a Bazarpeth police station official said.According to Rohini's complaint, the incident took place around 11pm on September 13 when Visale allegedly became enraged after seeing the child avoid him and slammed him on the floor, the official said."Visale pressed then pressed the child's hand on a hot plate, resulting in three of the child's fingers getting scalded. The accused also assaulted Rohini when she intervened to protect her child.
