Thailand, US writing ‘final paragraph’ of trade deal, says PM Anutin

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced that Thailand and the United States are in the final stages of negotiating a reciprocal trade agreement. The deal could potentially be signed during President Trump's upcoming visit to Asia in November.
Why it matters
A finalized trade deal would be a significant economic development for Thailand, especially given current tariff pressures and the US's status as its largest export market.
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul received a letter from US President Donald Trump last week confirming both countries were “at the final stage” on the agreement, he said at a forum in Singapore on Wednesday (Oct 7).
