TG SAFE suspends FSSAI licence of five Hyderabad establishments over food safety violations
The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has suspended the FSSAI licences of five food establishments in Hyderabad due to severe hygiene violations. Authorities conducted a special enforcement drive, resulting in the closure of several restaurants and hostels found with pest infestations and expired food.

The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has suspended the FSSAI licences of five food establishments operating in Hyderabad’s Kukatpally area and ordered them to immediately stop business operations following food safety and hygiene violations. Additionally, one hostel was shut by the authorities for operating without FSSAI licence.
The establishments are Manikanta’s Live Space Luxury Women’s Hostel, Sri Balaji Luxury Men’s PG Hostel, Hotel Sitara Grand, Bake Max Foods Private Limited (Brown Bear manufacturing unit), and Mandi King Arabian Restaurant. These establishments were flagged for heavy cockroach infestation, pest-infested food, fungal contamination in groundnuts, expired food, improper maintained refrigerators, spoiled vegetables and unhygienic premises.
GVK New Luxury PG Men’s Hostel was found to be operating without an FSSAI licence or registration and in violation of food safety norms. The establishment was closed, TG SAFE said.
