TG committed to creating environment for industrial growth: Sridhar Babu

Telangana Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu announced the state's commitment to expanding its industrial footprint into the plastics and polymer sector. Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Friday that Telangana can replicate the success it achieved in Information Technology, electronics, defence and aerospace, pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences and Global Capability Centres (GCCs), in the polymer sector as well.
Calling upon stakeholders in the industry to join hands with the government in making Telangana a leading hub for plastics and polymer manufacturing, he said, “Our doors are always open for constructive dialogue. We are committed to creating an environment where industry can grow with confidence.”
Mr. Sridhar Babu, who was speaking after inaugurating the plastics expo, HIPLEX 2026, said the plastics and polymer industry is one of the silent engines of India’s economy. It provides direct employment to nearly 50 lakh people and indirect employment to more than one crore people across the country. In Telangana alone, nearly two lakh families are dependent for their livelihood on this ecosystem.
