The Coimbatore City Police have invited applications for temporary licences to sell firecrackers for Deepavali, which falls on November 8, a release said.

Applications can be submitted at the office of the Commissioner of Police from September 1 to 30, up to 5 p.m. on the last day. The licensing process covers premises under B1 to B5, C1 to C6, D1 to D6 and E1 to E3 police stations.

Applicants have to submit the prescribed AE-5 application, photographs, Aadhaar or ration card copy, a ₹1,200 licence fee challan, six copies of the site sketch, property tax receipt, GST registration and PAN card, besides the local body licence fee receipt and photographs of the premises. For rented buildings, the owner’s consent on ₹20 stamp paper, along with the property tax receipt, is required.
