A 55-year-old woman, K. Pandiammal of Palanganatham, who was working on the terrace in Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple on September 14, succumbed to injuries at the Government Rajaji Hospital on Saturday.

The police said that the woman had been working at the temple for the last 10 months.

After she slipped from the terrace of the Old Kalyana Mandapam, she was taken to the temple hospital where she was given first-aid.

Later, she was taken to the GRH. Temple police have registered a case.

A 40-year-old man, L. Prabhakaran of Keelavalavu sustained multiple cut injuries after he was hacked by M. Raja of the same locality on Wednesday.

The police said that the injured person had warned Raja against have an illicit relationship with his niece about six months back.
