TEMERLOH, Aug 23 — A civil defence officer who was bitten by a cobra while demonstrating how to handle the reptile at a community programme here yesterday, died early this morning.
The Temerloh Civil Defence Force officer Sergeant Muhamad Muazam Shah Kamardin, 39, died at 1.50am while receiving treatment at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital here, Malay news outlet BH reported.
Pahang Civil Defence Force director Colonel Che Adam A Rahman said the deceased’s remains would be managed and prayers held at Kampung Bukit Kelulut Mosque before he is buried at the Kampung Bukit Kelulut Muslim Cemetery this morning.
The burial is expected to take place at about 9am.
