"As you can imagine, we have been receiving lots of messages from folks, and as the senator continues to recover, we will be sure to keep you updated," a spokesperson said, according to reports from WDRB and WAVE .
The spokesperson added that McConnell "appreciates the outpouring of support" and "is working closely with his staff on Kentucky and Senate matters while the Senate is out of session."
Saturday's statement came as Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear continued to press for information about the health of the U.S. senator who represents his state.
