Medical students of Government Medical College (GMC), Jagtial of Telangana, called off their protest on Friday (October 9, 2026) after signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Telangana Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department, which laid down deadlines for completing and handing over pending infrastructure at the college.
The agreement addresses the students’ demands for completion of hostel facilities, a permanent college building, laboratories, sports amenities and other essential campus infrastructure. The boys’ and girls’ hostel facilities was agreed to be completed and handed over to the college administration on or before November 25. The facilities are intended to accommodate students, interns and resident doctors, with dedicated reading rooms.
