Telangana raises AYUSH stipends, on par with allopathic House Surgeons and PGs
The Telangana government has increased the monthly stipends for AYUSH House Surgeons and postgraduate students to match those of their allopathic counterparts. This decision follows a 28-day strike by students demanding pay parity.

Nine days after Telangana AYUSH students, House Surgeons and postgraduate doctors called off their 28-day strike , the State government has approved an increase in their stipends, bringing them on par with those paid to corresponding allopathic junior doctors and postgraduate (PG) students.
The enhancement was approved through a government order issued by Health Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu following a proposal submitted by the Director, Department of AYUSH, Telangana.
Under the revised structure, the monthly stipend for AYUSH House Surgeons has been increased from ₹13,754 to ₹29,792. The order covers 405 House Surgeons, including 126 Ayurveda students, 125 Homoeopathy students, 94 Unani students and 60 Naturopathy students.
