Telangana rain forecast puts officials on alert
Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has placed officials on high alert following a three-day rain forecast for the state. The government has directed the establishment of control rooms and prioritized the safety of residents in flood-prone and low-lying areas.

In view of rain forecast in Telangana over three days from Wednesday (September 23, 2026), Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy directed officials to be swift in responding to grievances of people.
The situation in flood prone, low-lying areas, rivulets and steams has to be constantly monitored. Officials were directed to be prepared to shift people to safer areas when necessary.
Safety measures have to be taken with a focus on Pedapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts.
