Telangana People’s Front roundtable calls for stronger public education system

The Telangana People’s Front (TPF), as part of its 12-day Vidya Bus Yatra that began on Tuesday, organised a roundtable meeting in Khammam town on the growing challenges facing public education in the State, on Wednesday.
Representatives of teachers’ unions, activists and educationists interacted with the TPF team, led by Telangana Education Commission former chairperson Akunuri Murali, and discussed various measures to strengthen the public education system and address the rising costs of private school and college education.
The participants stressed the need to build widespread public awareness and generate demand for quality public education and make it accessible to all. The meeting called for targeted government action to improve government schools by providing adequate infrastructure, essential facilities, sufficient teaching staff and a conducive learning environment.
