The Telangana High Court on Monday removed the stay order on Government Order (G.O.) Ms. No. 4 providing financial assistance of ₹1.25 lakh to physically challenged unmarried women under the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes.

However, the stay order against the seven other G.O.s through which financial assistance was being provided to unmarried women under the two schemes would continue for another two weeks.

Justice N.V. Shravan Kumar, who earlier passed the interim stay order against the eight G.O.s, declined to vacate the stay order against all eight G.O.s.. An advocate, Vijay Gopal of the HC, filed a writ petition challenging the constitutional validity of the implementation of the two welfare schemes. He contended that the government had to strike a fiscal balance. The eight G.O.s facilitating financial assistance to unmarried women of different sections had no legal sanctity was his contention.
