Telangana govt. to launch 1 lakh LIG houses scheme in CURE on July 20; eligibility criteria, application process to be announced
The Telangana government is set to launch a scheme for one lakh low-income group houses in the Core Urban Region of Hyderabad. Officials will announce eligibility criteria and application details on July 20 to assist residents in staying near their livelihoods.

The Telangana government’s one lakh Indiramma Houses for people from Lower Income Groups (LIG) in the Core Urban Region (CURE) will be launched on Monday (July 20). The houses would be constructed in multi-storey buildings up to 10 floors.
People would get clarity on the eligibility criteria, application process and a few more crucial details on Monday. Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that he, along with Hyderabad in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Rangareddy in-charge Minister D. Sridhar Babu and Minorities Welfare Minister Md. Azharuddin would release a brochure with these details.
Stating that each of the constituencies would be treated as a separate unit, the Minister suggested that people apply in their own constituency. The scheme is designed to ensure people don’t have to move far away from their source of livelihood, schools or other educational institutes of their children and their current residence.
