Telangana Govt issues order to register Section 22-A properties with valid approvals

The Telangana government has issued an order allowing the registration of properties previously blocked under Section 22-A of the Registration Act, provided they have valid government approvals. This move aims to resolve long-standing property registration issues for homeowners and developers.
Why it matters
It provides legal clarity and relief to property owners who were previously unable to register their assets due to administrative restrictions.
In a major relief to the people, the government has paved the way for registration of open plots, houses and flats included in the prohibited properties list under Section 22-A of the Registration Act, provided they have valid approvals from competent government agencies.
The Revenue Department issued orders allowing registration of properties that had been developed with valid layout, building or apartment approvals from the GHMC, HMDA, municipal bodies, DTCP or other urban and rural local authorities. The decision follows Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s assurance in the Legislative Assembly on September 16 that the government would take steps to resolve 22-A-related issues on a fast-track basis.
