Telangana CM seeks 11.56 lakh PMAY-G houses, expansion of VB G RAM G works

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday (July 28, 2026) met Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan and sought the allocation of 11.56 lakh houses to Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) 2.0.
During the meeting, Mr. Reddy reportedly claimed that rural housing construction in Telangana had been neglected during the tenure of the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi ( BRS) government and stressed the need for enhanced support from the Centre to address the housing requirements of rural families.
The Chief Minister also urged the Union Minister to expand the scope of works under the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) programme in view of the challenges posed by El Nino conditions. He proposed the inclusion of 10 additional works aimed at improving the people’s livelihoods and strengthening rural incomes.
