Tel Aviv ranks highest in Middle East in new Oxford global cities index

Tel Aviv ranked 34th globally in Oxford Economics' 2026 Global Cities Index, published on September 15, which assesses major cities across five key areas: Economics, Human Capital, Quality of Life, Environment, and Governance. Tel Aviv's strongest results were recorded in Economics, where it ranked 16th in the world, and Human Capital, where it placed 31st. The city ranked 156th in Quality of Life, 234th in Environment and 401st in Governance.While it's still not the 2024 result, in which Tel Aviv ranked 30th worldwide, it's better than the 2025 result, where the city was placed 46th.The index is fairly new, introduced in 2024, and ranks the top 1,000 cities worldwide.
