The race to 0mm display bezels has taken a back seat in recent years, but Tecno decided to jump-start the whole ordeal with its bezel-less concept phone. We got to hold it in person here at IFA Berlin 2026, and these are some early impressions.

While there are no visible black borders around the display, the metal frame feels wider compared to regular phones. So, did Tecno just squeeze the bezels under the phone’s frame? Kind of.

It's actually more complicated than that. See, Tecno is using a dual-layer cover glass with the bottom portion wrapping around the midframe and concealing the inactive area and the black bezels.

This approach also required Tecno to invert the screen assembly process, with the module inserted from the back. There's also a custom hot-melt adhesive that holds the second layer cover glass from the front side.
