Technopark to have prefabricated IT building

Technopark in Kerala is expanding its Phase III campus with a new prefabricated IT building to meet growing demand for office space. The project, which aims for faster construction, is set to begin following a foundation stone ceremony.
Why it matters
The use of prefabricated technology in large-scale commercial real estate signals a shift toward faster, more efficient infrastructure development in the IT sector.
Technopark is set to have a prefabricated IT office building with approximately two lakh sq. ft. of total built-up area at its Phase III campus in the capital. The park has now invited e-tenders from reputed developers to design and construct the prefabricated IT office building. The project covers the design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning of the proposed prefabricated IT office building on a design-and-build basis.
Minister for Industries and IT P.K.Kunhalikutty will lay the foundation stone for the building at a function to be held on Tuesday. An area of 1.5 acres has been set aside for the building in the Phase III campus. Bidders shortlisted from Stage 1 will be invited to present their project execution strategy before a Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) comprising both internal representatives and external domain experts.
