The company formally warned investors that its technology may pose "existential risks to humanity," according to a report that cited sources with knowledge of the prospectus.
One veteran analyst viewed Anthropic's risk-laden disclosures as creating more headwinds for the industry.
"I continue to view this as kind of a shocker risk relative to what I believe [will happen]," Yorkville Ives partner and longtime tech analyst Dan Ives said on Yahoo Finance's Sozzi Unleashed . "I do think there's some alarmism that's going on here as well."
The alleged financial results fall under the "shocker" column too.
