Team 18 owner responds amid calls for immediate personnel change after Bathurst 1000 disaster

Team 18 owner Charlie Schwerkolt is facing pressure to make personnel changes following a fuel miscalculation that cost the team a win at the Bathurst 1000. The team is currently conducting a debrief to address the recurring technical failure.
Why it matters
High-stakes professional sports teams often face significant organizational restructuring after repeated failures in major events.
Charlie Schwerkolt (L) was left devastated when Anton de Pasquale ran out of fuel in the Bathurst 1000. Image: Channel 7/Supercars If recent history is anything to go by, one or more people could find themselves out of a job following Team 18's disastrous finish in the Bathurst 1000 . And team owner Charlie Schwerkolt has refused to make any guarantees after Anton de Pasquale ran out of fuel on the final lap.
Team 18 under-fuelled de Pasquale's car when he pitted for the final time on lap 140. His car came to a spluttering halt on lap 161, allowing Brodie Kostecki to steal a barely-believable victory.
It's believed they only needed one more second of fuelling and de Pasquale would have made the finish line. Unfortunately for Team 18 it's not the first time one of their cars has run out of fuel.
