Teachers should build knowledge through libraries, not depend on AI: Professor

Teachers should strengthen their knowledge through libraries, reading, and original research rather than depend excessively on Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, said Central University of Karnataka (CUK) Vice-Chancellor Battu Satyanarayana.
Speaking at a user awareness programme on ‘Library e-Resources’ organised by the CUK Central Library for new teaching faculty members on the main campus on Monday (July 27), Prof. Satyanarayana said that over-dependence on AI in academic writing and research could affect independent thinking, analytical skills, and originality.
“A teacher’s knowledge, creativity, and academic integrity are the foundations of quality education,” he said, advising faculty members to use AI responsibly while preserving their own academic approach.
