Teachers’ federation urges school education department to withdraw order on meal duties

The Tamil Nadu Government Employees Teachers Welfare Federation has urged the School Education Department to withdraw its announcement of appointing the same monitoring teacher for both the breakfast program and the mid-day meal program.
In a release, the federation noted that the teacher would have to come in earlier to monitor the breakfast scheme and then once again supervise the noon meal which would leave the teachers with little teaching time.
In a circular, the School Education department had directed all primary education officers to notify nodal teachers to monitor the hygiene and preparation of the meals.
