Teacher robbed by burqah-clad women at Sholavandan

A teacher in Sholavandan was robbed of her gold jewelry by two women wearing burqahs who entered her home while she was sleeping. Police are currently investigating the incident using local CCTV footage.

K. Rajalakshmi, 43, was robbed off her six sovereigns of gold jewellery at her house on Market Road in Sholavandan on Sunday.
In her complaint, Rajalakshmi, a teacher in a private school, said two women wearing burqah barged into her house on the first floor of a building around 3 p.m. She did not notice them as she was asleep. The intruders overpowered her and gagged her mouth with a cloth. They also tied her legs before decamping with her six-sovereign gold chain. She was later was rescued.
