Three students of the government lower primary school at Kiruvase near Karur in Sagara taluk suffered bruises allegedly after being assaulted by a guest teacher on Thursday.
The incident came to the notice of the Block Education Officer of Sagara on Thursday evening. The officers reached the village late in the evening and took the students to a hospital for treatment.
The teacher, Rakshitha, allegedly beat a grade 2, grade 3 and a grade 4 student with a stick, leaving marks on their backs. A resident of the taluk posted the photo on social media on Thursday which drew widespread attention with many expressing shock and demanding suitable action against the teacher.
