Tea Board India’s South Zonal Office launched a weekend promotional event at Inorbit Mall in Visakhapatnam on Saturday (September 19, 2026), to boost consumer awareness of tea’s wellness benefits and encourage higher consumption.
Organised under Executive Director M. Bharani Kumaar, the event was inaugurated by Ooty small tea farmer Vimala. Development Officer R. Uma Maheswari honoured fellow progressive growers P.K. Kumaran and Arun with shawls, while Ramanand of Tirumala Tirupathi Tea Nook assisted with on-ground execution.
The exhibition has been organised to showcase organic, handmade varieties crafted by small growers from South India, while giving visitors an opportunity to explore specialty blends at the Tea Board booth, including black orthodox, green, white, oolong, masala, bamboo, and flavoured infusions like blue tea, chamomile, rose, and hibiscus.
