TDP formulates plan for local body polls in Kadapa
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is organizing its strategy for upcoming local body elections in Kadapa, aiming to challenge the YSRCP's dominance. Local leaders are focusing on candidate selection and highlighting the NDA's development agenda to secure votes.
Why it matters
The outcome of these local elections will serve as a barometer for the political strength of the ruling coalition in a key district.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Zonal Coordinator R. Srinivasa Reddy and his spouse, MLA Reddeppagari Madhavi Reddy, huddled with locally prominent leaders in the district on Friday (September 11, 2026), ahead of the local body elections. The agenda included discussions on prospective candidates and guidelines for the cadre.
The party is leaving no stone unturned to wrest the Kadapa Municipal Corporation (KMC) from the grip of the YSRCP. While strongly believing that the NDA’s development agenda over the last two years would garner votes, the leaders have also reportedly identified new names for the various divisions in the corporation.
