Tata Sons board retains N. Chandrasekaran for another five years

Tata Sons Executive Chairman N. Chandrasekaran has agreed to continue in the post for another five years after the board asked him to reconsider his earlier decision to step down. His current term ends in February 2027. The decision comes amid differences over his reappointment, with Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata opposing the move. The Tata Sons board has also sought regulatory guidance amid ongoing issues involving the company’s NBFC licence.
