TARATDAC members stage demonstration

The Tamil Nadu Association for the Rights of All Types of Differently Abled and Caregivers (TARATDAC) members staged a demonstration on Monday in front of the Dindigul Collectorate.
They said the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act) legally recognises 21 distinct categories of specified disabilities. However, the proposed framework for the 2027 Census reduces these to a compressed list of just nine classifications, they said.
