A day after the Congress accused the Narendra Modi government of ecocide by pushing ahead with the auction of the Tara coal block in Chhattisgarh’s Hasdeo-Aranya, the Union Coal Ministry and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State issued clarifications on the matter.
While the Coal Ministry stated that the Tara coal block was included in the auction process only after the revision of boundaries, the Chhattisgarh BJP demanded that the Congress should first answer for its own decisions on the coal block while it was in power at the Centre and the State.
