TANZANIA is set to host the second Doha dialogue on labour mobility and employment in Dar es Salaam next month, with the government seeking to expand decent overseas employment opportunities for Tanzanians while strengthening protection of migrant workers.
Deus Sangu, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Employment and Relations), said yesterday that the meeting would be held from October 5 to 6 in Dar es Salaam.
The meeting will bring together African Union member states, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries—Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain—as well as Jordan and Lebanon.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to be the guest of honour.
