Tundu Lissu is the chairman of Chama cha Demokrasia na Maendeleo (CHADEMA), Tanzania’s main opposition party, and the country’s best-known government critic. He survived being shot multiple times in 2017, sustaining injuries that required more than twenty operations, in an attack for which nobody has been convicted.
