Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangam slams TVK government’s ‘divisive strategy’ on crop loan waiver
The Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangam has accused the state government of using a 'divide and rule' strategy regarding crop loan waivers to distract from water-sharing disputes. The farmers' association plans to protest at the State Secretariat on October 14 if their demands are not met.

The Tamizhaga Vivasayigal Sangam has criticised what it described as ‘divisive strategy’ of the State Government in handling the crop loan waiver issue.
The Sangam, independent of other farmer associations, has taken a stand that the State Government is adopting a ‘divide and rule’ tactic on implementing the loan waiver promise, with the intent of eclipsing the focus on Inter-State water-sharing issues, G. Ranganathan, State Organising Secretary of the Sangam, said.
The stand of the State Government in handling the Mekedatu issue leaves much to be desired, Mr. Ranganathan said.
Taking exception to other farmer associations claiming the support of the Sangam, and holding talks with State Ministers, Mr. Ranganathan said the Sangam had not endorsed any other association to espouse its cause.
