Tamil Nadu Ranji pre-season camp from September 3

The Tamil Nadu cricket team is beginning its pre-season Ranji Trophy camp with a new coach, V. Yo Mahesh, and a focus on improving performance. The association is also planning to appoint a new Head of Cricket to oversee talent scouting and academy operations.
Why it matters
Professional sports management changes and training camps are critical for the development of regional cricket talent in India.
Tamil Nadu will begin its pre-season Ranji Trophy campaign from Thursday in the city. The selectors have picked a 30-member probables list for the camp, with nine other players — mostly fast bowlers — set to take part.
Following a disappointing Ranji Trophy campaign last year, in which the team finished sixth among eight teams in its group, TN desperately needs to pull up its socks this year.
For the fifth year in succession, TN will have a new coach in former player V. Yo Mahesh, who guided the State under-19 side to the semi-finals last year.
The camp will be spread across a couple of venues, including MAC Stadium, where it will also play a four-day game later this month.
