Minister for Social Justice Vanni Arasu on Wednesday inaugurated a slew of completed infrastructure projects worth ₹8.83 crore across Kallakurichi district and distributed welfare assistance to the tune of ₹4.87 crore to 455 beneficiaries.

The completed works, included additional classrooms for government schools, siddha wing buildings in primary health centres among other projects

The Minister also handed over financial assistance to the tune of ₹62.46 lakh to nine beneficiaries. Earlier, he inaugurated a hostel building constructed at a cost of ₹1.45 crore under the National Urban Livelihood Mission. He inspected the Kallakurichi Government Medical College and Hospital and reviewed the treatment and basic facilities.
