Tamil Nadu CM Vijay reviews preparations for expansion of Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Friday (September 18, 2026) chaired a review meeting at the Secretariat in Chennai on the expansion of the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme , which is scheduled to be launched on September 22 for students studying in Classes VI to VIII in government and government-aided schools.
Mr. Vijay will launch the expansion of the scheme at a school in Tiruvanmiyur in Chennai. According to an official release, around 15.3 lakh additional students studying in Classes VI to VIII in 15,454 government and government-aided schools will benefit from the expansion. An additional allocation of ₹217.63 crore has been made for this purpose in the current financial year.
