Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Trophy 2026 commences in Madurai

The district-level sports competitions for the 2026 “Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Trophy,” organised by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, commenced in Madurai on Wednesday.
District Collector Nishanth Krishna inaugurated the event at the Dr. M.G.R. Stadium.
The tournament features competitions across five categories — school students, college students, the general public, government employees and persons with disabilities. Events include athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, kabaddi, silambam, swimming and tennis for both men and women.
Matches are being held at various venues in the city, including the Dr. M.G.R. Stadium, American College, Lady Doak College, Sriram Nallamani Higher Secondary School, O.C.P.M. Higher Secondary School and the Solaimalai College of Engineering grounds.
