Tamil Nadu aiming for top spot in MSME contribution to country’s GDP: Minister Mathan Raja
Tamil Nadu's MSME Minister P. Mathan Raja announced government initiatives to boost the state's MSME sector to help reach a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036. The state currently ranks second in India for MSME contribution to GDP and aims to secure the top position.

Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) P. Mathan Raja said on Monday that steps have been taken to boost Tamil Nadu’s MSME sector and achieve the top spot in its contribution to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The Minister inspected rapier looms at a New Entrepreneur-cum-Enterprise Development Scheme (NEEDS) beneficiary location at Kakapalayam, printer cluster and a steel company at Erumapalayam, and the Silver Anklet Flatted Factory Complex in Ariyagoundampatti. The Minister participated in a review meeting at the DIC office along with the officials from the DIC, SIDCO, TAICO, Startup TN, and Sagoserve. Later, he inspected the Sagoserve premises on the Salem-Bengaluru National Highway.
