tamagotchi shrinks into wearable ring with LCD color screen

Bandai has released a miniature, wearable version of the classic Tamagotchi digital pet in the form of a ring. The device features a color LCD screen and retains the core gameplay mechanics of the original 90s toy.
Why it matters
This product highlights the trend of 'nostalgia tech,' where classic digital experiences are adapted for modern wearable form factors.
Bandai shrinks the Tamagotchi into a ring-shaped device designed to be worn as an accessory. The Tamagotchi ring measures approximately 28 23 35 millimeters and places a color LCD screen inside a compact wearable form, allowing users to feed, care for, and play with the digital creature directly from their finger. The device is available in Japan in three color combinations: Pink & Pearl White, Light Blue & Metallic Gold, and Black & Metallic Silver. Bandai uses an aurora pearl finish for the pink version, while the other two models feature plated finishes.
Traditionally carried in a pocket, attached to a keychain, or suspended from a bag, the digital pet now occupies a more immediate position on the body. The format brings Tamagotchi closer to contemporary wearable technology, retaining the deliberately simple interaction that defined the original devices.
