Take up Dagadarthi airport after Bhogapuram, Nellore MPs urge Naidu

Members of Parliament from Nellore have urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to prioritize the development of the Dagadarthi airport project. The request follows the upcoming inauguration of Bhogapuram airport and aims to support regional industrial growth and infrastructure.
Why it matters
This reflects regional political efforts to secure infrastructure investment and economic development for the Nellore district.
Public representatives of SPSR Nellore district have appealed to the government to develop infrastructure in the northern Nellore constituencies, in tune with the industrial facilities that are set to come up soon.
The Dagadarthi airport , for which land acquisition has been completed, is waiting in the wings to take off, being at the tender stage. After the momentum of its initial stages, the project is learnt to have moved at a sluggish pace in recent months.
Taking note of this, Rajya Sabha member Beedha Mastan Rao Yadav, besides Members of Parliament Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy (Nellore) and Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (Ongole), raised the issue with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during his recent New Delhi visit.
Mr. Naidu is learnt to have assured them that he would take up the Dagadarthi airport issue after the formal inauguration of the Bhogapuram airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scheduled for August 1.
