Take strict action in sexual assault allegations against R. Veeramani, AIDWA urges T.N. government

The All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) has urged the Tamil Nadu government to take strict action in the sexual assault case involving Gem Granites chairman R. Veeramani and conduct an inquiry against police officials who allegedly failed to take appropriate action in the case.

The association said reports that minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted in the POCSO case involving the Chennai-based businessman were shocking and deeply concerning. It said reports suggesting that several other girls may also have been affected made it imperative that all facts in the case be brought to light.

According to the association, the police were provided information and evidence, including a video allegedly showing Veeramani sexually assaulting a minor girl on October 6, 2025. A case was registered the next day on October 7.
