Take a new path at these recently opened Sonoma County parks
Sonoma County is expanding its public park offerings with new trails and preserves, including the expanded Taylor Mountain and the newly opened Wildlands Conservancy preserve. These additions provide increased access to diverse landscapes for hikers, bikers, and equestrians.

Sonoma County is home to hundreds of acres of prime parks and preserves, where hikers and bikers are treated to stunning landscapes, diverse woodlands, and numerous native flora and fauna. But adding more pristine parkland to the mix never hurts.
Here are three recently opened and coming-soon parks, trails and preserves in Sonoma County.

Taylor Mountain in Santa Rosa basically doubled its trail network last summer when it unveiled 8 miles of new multiuse pathways, opening 450 previously inaccessible acres to hikers, bikers and equestrians. Carefully cut into the northern flanks of the mountain, one of the highlights is the shaded Colgan Creek Trail.
