MANILA, Philippines - The aunt of the minor school shooter "Nash" has been charged by Tacloban prosecutors with reckless imprudence over the use of her firearm during the June shooting incident.

In a message to reporters on Tuesday, August 25, Department of Justice Spokesperson Polo Martinez said that the Office of the City Prosecutor of Tacloban City recommended the filing of charges for reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and physical injuries against Police Staff Sergeant Arla Ray Pacencia.

According to Martinez, the information was filed with the Family Court, Regional Trial Court of Tacloban City.

"The DOJ trusts that the criminal process will proceed in accordance with the rules on due process for all parties concerned," Martinez said.

The complaints were filed by the parents and students of San Jose National High School following the shooting incident involving 14-year-old Nash and another 15-year-old individual last June.
