Tackle El Nino impact on drinking water supply effectively, Pawan Kalyan tells officials
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to accelerate the construction of mega water grid projects in the Prakasam and Palnadu districts. These projects aim to mitigate drinking water scarcity exacerbated by El Nino conditions and provide reliable water access to over 1.6 million residents.

Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply K. Pawan Kalyan has instructed the officials to take steps for effectively tackling the drinking water scarcity and drought-like conditions caused by El Nino across the State.
Chairing a review meeting on the Jal Jeevan Mission, Mr. Pawan Kalyan also directed the officials to complete the mega water grid projects in Prakasam and Palnadu districts costing ₹2,500 crore as per schedule to supply drinking water to every household in the districts.
He insisted that the water grid works undertaken in both the districts under the JJM and Amarajeevi Jaladhara schemes should progress as per the specified timelines.
