PETALING JAYA: The release of the royal commission of inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji (TH) was not part of an election strategy ahead of the Negeri Sembilan state election, says government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil.
Fahmi, who is also the communications minister, said the Cabinet had unanimously approved the report's release.
He said the decision would allow the report to be debated in the Dewan Rakyat and enable the relevant authorities to act on its findings.
“We went through the proper processes. It was brought to the Cabinet, discussed by the Cabinet and the decision was made unanimously,” Bernama quoted him as saying at Felda Palong 2 in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan.
