T.N. govt to soon revise autorickshaw fares: Transport Minister

Tamil Nadu government will soon take initiatives to implement autorickshaw fare revision, Transport Minister A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban said in the Assembly on Tuesday.
During the debate for demand for grants for his department, he said, the fare structure was fixed long ago and has not been revised. He was responding to a query by Kilvelur MLA T. Latha. With a spike in the fuel prices and rising cost of vehicle maintenance, autorickshaw drivers and owners had sought revision of fares. According to him, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay also wants meters to be installed in autorickshaws soon.
