The Tamil Nadu government has issued an order mandating presenceless registration for deposit of title deeds and deed of receipt presented by banks and financial institutions from September 15, as part of the second phase of Anywhere Registration.
The order was in pursuance of Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration D. Logesh Tamilselvan’s recent announcement in the Assembly that the government would issue appropriate orders to make presenceless registration for deposit of title deeds and deed of receipt presented by banks and financial institutions mandatory.
In the first phase of Anywhere Registration, inaugurated by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on August 17, the State government had mandated the registration of deeds relating to the first sale of plots by plot promoters and the first sale of flats by builders, along with consecutive deposit of title deeds.
